6/8/64: “Theodore C. Freeman, one of the 14 astronauts last chosen, bicycles to work at the Manned Spacecraft Center every day he does not have to be out of town. Freeman, 33, an Air Force captain, said that in addition to being a good exerciser, a bike is easier to find parking room for.”
